These are very small glass porducts in which microscopic channels an reactors are ethched, in which liquids or gasses react. This new technology has a wide range of potential applications of which many in the medical field.
As the technology is on the eve of an enormous development, the coaching focusses twofold: on one hand the realisation of a fast growth and secondly on professionalising of the production processes.

The company Prosysta in Emmeloord is active in development, desing engineering, supply and commissioning of turn-key systems in the process industry. This is e.g. for processing and handling of liquids and powders.

Sparring partner Cluster Technopooling
Cluster Technopooling was an intermediary that organized hiring in and hiring out high-skilled technical engineers between different companies, in order to balance capacity in unstable markets. At the start of this initiative I acted as sparring partner to review the ideas with the originators if the company. The feasibility of their ideas has been examined. Also after the start of the company I often acted as sparring partner to check new business concepts. To avoid a conflict of interest with Philips (who became a customer) I avoided any operational issue at these meetings. Cluster has been very successful and developed multimillions revenue with high returns. In the mean time Cluster is divested to another company and is now operating under another name.

Sparring partner for Vitalent
A newly founded company called Vitalent has developed a very innovative organization model, with which organizations can prevent hampering most of their growth-perils in stead of curing them afterwards. In some meetings we reviewed the philosophy, business plan and presentations of Vitalent. In the mean time Vitalent has made a very good start and is rewarded for their practical approach and innovative ideas.

Sparring partner Braamhaar Hoveniers (gardeners)
Gardening companies operate in an extremely competitive environment, where many small companies without personal are active next to a few very large semi-governarnement organizations. Only a minority succeeds in being profitable. Braamhaar is one of those few with healthy results (operating with the "Groenkeur"-quality certificate), as a result of solid organization and qualified executions.
The challenge however for Braamhaar is to expand the business further.
In a series of meetings there has been elaborated a long term business plan including short term actions to realize the long term goals.

Business acceleration by innovation
As an initiative of the regional government, an institution for innovation has been founded, called "Innovatie Platform Twente". In this institution a co-operation is created between government, research centers, educational institutes and business parties, in order to generate acceleration of business based on innovations in the region Twente. A few assignments has been carried out for this institution in the area of high-tech “mechatronics” (complex systems based on mechanics, electronics, embedded software and physics). These assignments where twofold:

CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission)
Several years ago I had a contact with someone who developed ideas for a complete new approach for a variable transmission, based on totally different principles than the currently known technology. The advantages of this new principle are that it is suitable for very low power (bicycles) up to very high power (trucks), with low friction and thus higher efficiency. On top of that easier and more efficient manufacturability. A patent has been quoted for but not yet financed and the ideas where only available on paper by lack of financing capabilities. After investigation if these ideas where suitable for Philips (which they where not), I arranged the building of prototypes and helped the inventor find financing partners through my personal network. This has lead to the vesting of the patent and further development has been started.

Advisory board Institute Industrial Technologies, Saxion Technical School
During four years I was member of the advisory board of this institute, which is a part of the Saxion School for educations on bachelors level. In this role I had the opportunity to advise a. o. on the future developments in the work environment for pupils, the quality of the educational program and strategic issues. For the technical issues I could allow experts from my own organization to contribute where I covered the strategically issues myself. It was important that the transition of the technical program and the education-staff became more open minded towards changes in the professional society.
